Tchaikovsky's Concerto
The first movement is nearly 20 minutes long, with the violinist exploring every facet of their instrument. Most of the concerto came easily to Tchaikovsky, but he ended up completely rewriting the second movement before finishing the piece only one month after he began it. There's no other famous violin concerto that has this many controversies over the solo part. The next time you're at a performance, you have my blessing to give the violinist a big cheer at the end of this movement.
