The Role of Quadriceps Strength in Patellofemoral Pain

weak quads are a risk factor for patellofemoral pain in military recruits. There isn't really an obvious plausible link between strong muscles and the development of patella-femoral pain so there's a hypothesis that activity level across the board may well be a risk factor, says Breda. Some people can probably run as much as they want and do whatever intensity however long a rest period or an off period before they go back to it and be okay. Other people are probably very sensitive to changes in training load and need to be careful but at the moment i say we don't really have any who's likely to fall into which bracket.
