Is the World Worth It?
Batman is not a hero in the full sense of it. He's never going to get lowslane, right? He's always going to be miserable. But what for the world? Is the world worth it? Not the way it's depicted in Superman. I used to give my students this assignment. There is no such thing as morality and finance. That's the cynicism of our culture. And a movie in which a successful financier is a good guy has maybe two or three in the history of cinema.
