The History of Zionism

Zionism is defined as an organized nationalist movement, generally considered to have been founded by Theodore Herzl in 1897. The organizations of hoveve Zion were responsible for 20 Jewish towns in Palestine between 1870 and 1897. At the core of the Zionist ideology was this traditional aspiration for a Jewish national home through the reestablishment of Jewish sovereignty in Palestine.
