The Role of Asian Type Dell in the Development of Childbearing Potential
The RHD-1-227A allele is found in greater than 95% of Dell individuals from east and southeast Asia. Since its molecular basis was first identified in 2001, the proper transfusion management of Asian Type Dell has been debated. A study from 2006 reported that Asian Type Dell recipients may not develop aloe anti-D after exposure to depositive red blood cells. The authors performed a clinical trial in which Asian Type Dell patients were transfused with depositive RBCs.
