The Importance of the Sacramental Celebration
The sacraments are meant for the time and space of our human existence here. So they can change because they're instituted for us, us changing means. And I, we shouldn't be concerned or surprised at this. The Gregorian chant of the seventh century might sound different than the motets or polyphony of the 15th century. Both are well-inspired by texts, which are proper to the liturgy. There is some liberty, as it were, for expression, depending on time and place and circumstances.
