The Role of Ultrasound in the Treatment of Polyarticular Disease

In my clinic practice I would use ultrasound regularly much more than x-ray and that's much more helpful for me to make a decision. Most of the patients that we include in these studies are not rapidly progressive they don't show big changes in their x-rays but there's that small proportion who do have more rapidly progressive disease. If we could do better at predicting those in clinic I think that would be helpful to try and drive how we treat patients and how we monitor patients so that we get patients welcome, maybe keep a closer eye on those who we know have a poorer prognosis.
