i think there's a strain in the left end and this isn't just sociology but of left wing in general that is just anti doing things well. i consider myself like kind of center left like backs and relaxed right in the side and kind of guy um but uh there is this strain and it's particularly strong in these kind of academia circles where i think they just don't like it when you have a kind of compass that you're optimizing to.
