The Great Atlantic Sargassum Galt
The Great Atlantic Sargassum Galt extends all the way from west coast of Africa, across the tropical Atlantic Ocean through the Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico. In 2018, we estimated that it contained about 22 million tons of SargassUM. We think this could be a record year. This tends to peak in the summer in June or July. So we have months yet ahead of us.
