Cornelius' Portraiture

Cornelius was one of the first people to take portrait photos in 1839. He used a combination of mirrors and lac film to make his images more realistic. His work proved that portraiture could be achieved, despite its length. The photo he took shows him looking like 'mister darcy emerges from the mist'
