Two authors found that adults over 40 perceive themselves to be on average about 20% younger than their actual age. Richard Primus, a constitutional law professor at the University of Michigan Law School: "I think it's because that's the age I was when my major life questions, statuses, reach the resolutions slash conditions in which they've since remained" One person was stuck at 32, unable to see themselves as any older than a sibling who died. The writer Molly John fast replied that she's 19 because that is the age she got sober.
