CHAPTER

The Key Idea of Constructed Level Theory

The key idea is that we just have different ways of thinking about these different kinds of things in a scene and a continuum in between. We want to see some things that are very important to us the same so that we can bond together. So if you're seeing the same thing from close up or far away you will see it differently. And so we won't be able to treat it as sacredly because we won't see it the same with medicine, for example. The solution here is to take things that are up close but still see them like they do from far away. That is to use construal level theory to think about such things even more clearly.
