Academic Writing Task One - What's Static?

What's the third biggest country in the world? That's a ridiculous question. Who cares? When you're looking at particularly a static set of numbers, this is not change over time we're talking about here. This is a static comparison. And still, why are you asking me these questions? I have no idea.
