Language Ideologies in the Wild

i am a applied linguist, and i research language learning during the study of rod. Study abroad is often imagined as that wonderful immersion experience. But when we continue to frame it as an experience of monolingal immersion, it often sets students up for disappointment. And so i think it's more helpful to think about how we can work on navigating multi-lingual realities.
