The Role of Co-Design in the Design Process

I'm inspired by the idea of co-design, which has its roots in Scandinavian design practice. There is a big risk that we start turning what should be democratic decisions into technocratic decisions just with enlightened technologists who happen to know their coding languages. That doesn't feel right for society and for human flourishing. And because of the way that technology and society are interwoven, unfortunately, a lot of the harms of technology fall upon society's most vulnerable people. I think we have a duty to understand those people and to ally with them and to listen to them.
