The Elfaro Sinking
The elfaro went down in the spring of 20 17, many months and thousands of pages of documents later. No one is precisely sure what combination of factors drove the elfaro to the bottom. Its ships are old, many years older than the average ship in the global fleet. The small american shipping lines don't want to spend a bunch of money on new vessels. But without the jones act, there almost would not be an American merchant marine.
