What Do You Need to Pace Your Defibrillator?

The first thing you're going to need is a device which can deliver that transcutaneous pacing. Not all defibrillators will have the ability to pace as this adds additional cost. You tend to find them in strategic locations in hospital anyway, but it's important to know where they are within your hospital and also what they look like. Many of the monitors out there won't allow you to start pacing unless you have the pads and that three lead monitoring in place. One manufacturer now who have developed a product which means that you don't need to have those three leads to be applied.
