Is There a Morality?

I find myself in a slightly strange position here of playing God's advocate. Couldn't you say that there would be no morality? No morality at all without God. All the very best and deepest thinking about ethics has come from non-religious traditions. The idea that you need an enforcer for morality is a kind of calamity on those people whose reasons for behaving as their you towards others are premised solely on liking your fellow human beings. I think there's going to be plenty of work for scientists to do for a long time yet. It seems to me that the latter always much, much more honourable and admirable than the former.
