I think the US is a very corrupt place in many ways. And there's a lot of sort of rapacious and predatory actions. But at the same time, the quality of governance here is better than Afghanistan. There are huge differences between places where the corruption is parasitic and an endemic but allows for a public sphere to exist. We've set in motion a process that is killing vital organs like the Amazon or Tundra or coral reefs on this planet. I mean we're not suffering yet from the worst impacts of it because we have changed the chemistry of the entire earth.
