In 61 a d following probably ill advised raids into parthia by tegranus the sixth, things changed. The romans soon discovered that they had earned parthia's full attention. From here on out, things would not be so easy. Just as things were about to get dicey in the east, a revolt in britannia exploded with such force that nero and his advisers seriously considered just giving up the island completely. Had gaius suitonius paulinus lost the battle of watling street, there is a very real possibility that the romans would have withdrawn from britain.
