When Nandaiah Ila'i and her daughter arrived in Asher after their long journey, they were entering the spiritual heart of the Assyrian Empire. The territory we call Assyria was to them Math Asher, the land of Asher, and the king was Asher's human agent. He says kings had to constantly seek to understand Ashwur's needs and wants through divination and oracles.
