Is an Inverted Yield Curve a Recession?

The yield curve is starting to invert. Flatter at the long end. Mike, it's flatter still. It's possible to tens inverts to the tune of 50 bases points or more by the end of the year. But as far as the pathforward, flatter, more painful for lon institutions. So mike, a lot of people are wondering whether an inverted yield curve still means a recession? And i'll go a step further: Does an inverted yield Curve in and of itself cause a recession? What's your view on this?
