There is not a problem of legal handguns being legally imported into Canada and legally owned by people somehow tumbling into the hands of criminals. That's correct. We're talking about a very, very small segment of the illegal market that'll be eliminated by this and it will largely be filled, right? If there's a strong demand for these things and it's clear that the border is an insufficient barrier to stop them, there's nothing indicates to me that that supply won't be filled by just importing more illegal handguns from the US.
