In the 19 eighties, perdu develops a its first pain killer, which was a morphine base called m s conton. The idea was it was a big morphine pill with a seal on the capsule that if you swallowed it would filter into your blood stream over hours and slowly dries up. And so they needed to find something new in proprietary space as generic drugs were becoming more popular. They latched on to the idea that there was a real reluctance to prescribe opioids because they have historically been linked to addiction.
