Introduction

Rupert Gatton is Professor of Buddhist Studies at the University of Bristol. He says Buddhism's 'no self theory' denies that we have any selves. But when we introspect, what we find is not the self, but rather a specific experience or feeling and so forth. In some ways it was a precursor to David Hume in his ideas about the self.
