What Is the Meaning of Ownership?

The notion of rights based on the harm principle requires that we understand ownership differently than we do now. If you own a piece of land under capitalism, you have almost absolute control over what goes on there short of whatever interventions the state may have made into it. That vision of ownership is one based in commodity form. It is the idea that this thing has no value outside of its value as a commodity. So I would hope that there would be no role for that.
