The Importance of Preserving Nature
The two men both love nature, but they don't totally agree on how best to manage it. Muir says we can use nature to help mankind, but largely we should preserve it so that people can feel wonder at its beauty. Roosevelt agrees in some cases, but he's also about using nature to serve humanity with hunting or public works projects.
