How Green Are Meat Alternatives?

Coconut is linked to deforestation and some of the worst environmental outcomes. The same applies if forests are cleared to grow the food for those cattle to eat. Things like soy or corn don't suck down and store nearly as much carbon as their predecessors, the trees. Plus, the animals manure gives off another potent planet warming gas. Nitrogen oxide which is 300 times worse than CO2. So that's why beef and lamb are usually like much, much higher in comparison with, for example, if we talk about chicken or pork.
