For anyone with CKD we want their iron saturation to be above 30% as long as their ferritin isn't too elevated and then we'll give either PO or IV iron. IV iron usually tends to be a little bit better actually in people with kidney disease. Some people will aim for a hemoglobin of like roughly 10 but again that's very controversial there's not as much data behind that so how much you'll find people either caring or abiding by that is totally dependent on the nephrologist.
