Laughter - The Theory of Humor

Laughter occurs when one of those expectations are violated. We feel a momentary sense of discomfort because our expectations have been violated. Henry Bergson's theory is often cited as a strange variation of the incongruity theory. The idea that laughter is something that's an important tool to help regulate society continues to be debated today.
