The Evolution of Long Ball Football in the Premier League?
Long ball football is still fairly pervasive at the top level. The managers who ended up in the premier league with longball football were the best at doing that style of football, if that makes sense. I would say confidently that normally takes between one and three years for the trend to sort of drip down. So it may just be that it's a little bit slower to happen. And for sure, it's less pervasive. There are 24 teams in the championship, and there wouldn't be nearly as big a proportion of teams playing out from the back as there are now.
