Rodent Study of Type 2 Diabetes
We used the mouse model of human type 2 diabetes, which represents an adult onset form of the disease that is associated also with obesity. These mice have a mutation that causes them to overeat and they develop a severe form of diabetes. And so we separated these mice into two groups. One group received rhodiola rosia and the other group was a control group that didn't receive anything. We measured blood glucose levels. We tested the response of these mice to insulin injections. Also checked their microbiome. So we characterized their gut microbiome. And finally, we measured inflammatory markers or molecules in their blood.
