Things that are 20 years old tend to still be remembered if they were big. Once you move beyond 50 years of anything, the collective understanding of it just evaporates. There was such a jump in the realism of film starting in about 1967 or 60 years that things prior to that seemed very old. The only way she lives on now is in Shawshank Redemption.
