I struggled to get angry about him. He was wholly unsuited for leadership should never have been near it. I've never had such a combined pincer attack on my sense of even belonging to British politics or belonging in the country as an accepted member of this political community. So many people seem to be running their nails under the seam where I feel joins to politics and that was profoundly alienating and very distressing.
