This pod has been a long while in the making. Hamish has soared into the public eye with Olympic success, but I've known Hamish for many years and have very fond memories of team trainings whilst I was in competitions and seeing this like really small, twiggy guy being so tenacious and like never gave him up on these like lead routes and now um it's been amazing to see how he's developed into well a not so little hamish and uh also really uh quite considerate around his motivations and uh passion for climbing so it's been really interesting for me to follow his what i think is quite a unique journey through uh competitions and uh um it's not been um it's not been all plain sailing um i think it's fair to say so we really dig into a bit of the nuance behind uh hamish's relationship with competing like juggling with his ego and like kind of his awareness around what competitions mean to him. So yeah, I kind of knew it was going to be a really fascinating story and having like followed a bit of Hamish's journey. And I think it lived up to every expectation. So it takes us a little while to get there. I'm sure many people are aware. Hamish did incredibly well in the Olympics this summer. And so lots of the conversation revolves around that.
