I don't see how crypto can scale without privacy, especially because what both proponents and detractors deem privacy is just known as the status quo elsewhere. I think in a lot of ways, you need people to be able to hold thoughts and associations that are outside of the current over-to-window or current popular sentiment. Financial freedom is almost upstream of free speech because if somebody can't afford to buy food or pay for housing or hold a job then ultimately speech is heavily infringed upon. To me, it seems like obviously you want to be compliant with all laws and regulations, but most important of all is upholding actual freedom of the individual.
