The Myth of Numa

Livi doesn't come up with an explanation quite as fanciful as Justin Martyr does for the resemblance of the Greco-Roman myths to the biblical story. It was Numa's native disposition then, as I inclined to believe, that tempered his soul with noble qualities. And so this feels important because if he were a student of Pythagoras, that'd mean that the kind of piety and legal system of Rome was rooted in Greece. But Livi says that can't be true because of the chronology.
