The first recorded wrongful execution in Connecticut's history. George Spencer strongly denied the accusation, but magistrates locked him up on suspicion after they took a look at the evidence. At this time, there was actually a full blown moral panic over bestiality. Almost all of those accused were poor teenage boys and young men without family ties in the area.
