I would say there were, there were many people along the way who were not presidents or vice chancellors. The second chancellor I worked for at Syracuse was somebody that I admired and looked up to certainly talk to him before taking the Elon job. As now head of the keen and trust in Chapel Hill Nancy was on a list of top 30 academic people under the age of 40 to watch. She says she didn't act on it but kept it on her desk because it really spoke to me.
