AI and the EU's Legislative Process
I think it's almost inevitable. Ultimately, if the AI really is as powerful of a tool, for instance, to be used by criminals, we need to then make sure that we also have the good actors to deploy the AI. I think there is a great need and incentive by many developers of these technologies to make sure that the technology is deployed in a way that can be used as a powerful weapon for good. And now this fall is the time when we are trying to find a consensus between the two legislators. Because of the looming European elections next summer, there is a timing issue.
