In some ways, Williams presents his argument where he's already laying it out in terms of a container case. This is the sort of his turning it back on Williams. The thing that's having the pain for Williams is the brain. If he's a physicalist about personal identity, that's what he's arguing here. He's saying, lock is wrong, that it's psychological continuity. Physical continuity is just as good.
