How Did You Get Into Mathematics?

I wanted to make a once-in-for-all lifetime decision. I thought it was such an- this is the most important decision in my life. So I went around thinking, walking at the University of Michigan on the campus and walked all around just trying to picture myself as a physician. And then I did so much walking that yes, my foot started to hurt. It seemed like a tragic- it was almost like death because all of the dreams that I had that I might have had to do something different will all be crossed off.
