The U.S. economy's gross domestic product is $26.5 trillion, but the unfunded liabilities for the United States are $173 million a year. If every single dollar came in GDP, it would still take seven years to cover the cost of Social Security and Medicare. The American public behaves much like the government: Just reckless spending without much thought to the repercussions of it.
