I think everyone who runs for office should make their second speech all the things that they did wrong, and then ask whether or not people still want them to run. We have a system where it actually behooves you to already be a piece of shit before you run. It turns out that 90% of the time when people commit scientific fraud, they're medical doctors who get into science. No one becomes and stays as a scientist if they don't really want the truth. There's no real incentive for figuring out stuff that's not true. And why are medical doctors more prone? Ego's.
