The book is about a frustrated man who had ike this hanging over his head. i think it does subtly shift in thi this later part, and it does get darkerd, and the kind of loss of control is deeper. And actually, you said he brought up the flogger as an example. So actually, now i see why it might be worth talking about because i think maybe there's a good breaking point after this chapter.
