Is Crime a Problem That Can Be Cured?
Crime is not a problem that can be cured. It will always be there unless we want to just lock everybody in individualized cages which would itself be a crime and so we wouldn't be getting rid of crime at all. In politics it's what steps can we reasonably take to solve the problem? What is the policy change we can make? Where is the funding that we can use? And so on. Even if we are right that this problem can be addressed, we might still get aspects of the solution to it wrong. We might adopt a policy that doesn't work as well as we hoped and so on. So we need a feedback mechanism where we say okay what would it look like
