Joan Olsen and Emma

Joan Olsen had written three full novels by the time she was in her mid-20s. Her father educated her at home more than anything gave her access to a very big library. She didn't have the connections or Savwell Fair somehow to get these works published. It wasn't until 1810 that with the help of her brother Henry, who was by that time a banker in London, she managed to get a contract for sense and sensibility.
