The Role of Mercenaries in the Russian War
Russian PMCs are increasingly becoming mercenary organizations fighting in Ukraine. Even PSCs are beginning to acquire mercenary subsidiaries. The interesting thing, of course, is that mercenaries would seem to be technically illegal in Russia. But there's a little note after that article which says this: A mercenary shall be deemed to meet a person who acts for the purpose of getting a material reward.
