The Metaphor of the Brain

I've heard this idea that hey we've moved from metaphor to metaphor about brains in the past. The brain isn't a computer it's no more a computer than it is a steam engine what do you guys say to that? Yeah so I think that the core misunderstanding there is that computational theory isn't just about how plates of silicon interact with one another but theory of computation as it was described by Alan Turing and later computer scientists. So people who just view it as a metaphor are just sort of not really understanding the full arguments.
