Xi Jinping's Global Security Initiative

I tend to think of it as defensive because they see themselves as being vulnerable. They're preparing for something to come where they expect bad things to happen from the US or they have specific intentions that are even broader, maybe relating to Taiwan. And so I see this as some pretty clear triggers from the US and it's not still an indication of any changing Chinese intentions. So maybe we can meet halfway though and say that there clearly is a sort of counter-containment diplomatic strategy.
